The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) is in the process of developing Electrical Inspectors’ Guidelines, the document that will give practical guidance to electrical installations inspectors across the country as require by Electricity By-laws of 2012.


The aim of the  guidelines are to enforce standards in the electricity supply industry, to reduce risk of damage to property and injury due to electric fires and electrocution


MERA has organized consultative workshops to get more input from the key stakeholders and the general public to enrich the guidelines.


MERA therefore  invites property owners, electrical installers, utility companies and the general public to stakeholders’ consultative workshops on Electrical Inspectors Guidelines to be held as follows:


9th December, 2019              :           Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel from 08:30 Hours;

11th December, 2019            :           Sunbird Capital Hotel from 08:30 Hours; and

13th December, 2019            :           Sunbird Mzuzu Hotel from 08:30 Hours.
