Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has bade farewell to Mr. Peterson Zembani after successfully completing his two terms as a Board Member.
Mr. Zembani was appointed into the MERA Board of Directors in December 2011 and served in different capacities in the six years he has been a member. In his second term, which started in December 2014, he chaired the following committees: Energy Technical and Licensing; Electrical Installation Permits; and Finance and Audit.
In his farewell remarks, Mr. Zembani thanked fellow Board Members as well as Management and Staff of MERA for the professional support rendered during his tenure as a Board Member. He urged MERA to continue operating in line with its legal mandate. He also looked forward to Government’s continued support and guidance to the energy regulator.
MERA Board Chairperson Rt. Revered Dr. Joseph Bvumbwe expressed the Board’s satisfaction with the services provided by Mr. Zembani. He acknowledged that the Board immensely benefited from Mr. Zembani’s the vast professional experience in the electricity sector. He wished Mr. Zembani a successful life in his future endeavors and looked forward to further engagements between Mr. Zembani and MERA.
